The aim of this article was to examine the level and other various aspects of dairy cattle welfare in Mazowieckie and Podlaskie province, as well as to indicate existing differences. The research was conducted in 2012 on a sample of 150 farms. Based on the survey, it was found that the overall level of welfare is higher in Mazowieckie than in Podlaskie province. At the same time the milk yield achieved in farms located in Mazowieckie province was lower than in farms located in Podlaskie province. This relationship was similar in the case of veterinary costs. Finally, the level of gross margin achieved from farm per cow was higher in Mazowieckie than Podlaskie province.
This paper deals with the nature of a primary and secondary pain in domestic animals and reasons for its occurrence. The above-mentioned problem is very important, as pain, apart from causing animal suffering, can also bring about significant economic losses. Attempts to prevent and limit pain fulfill expectations of meat consumers from many countries, who are interested in humanitarian aspects of the relationship between people and animals. The clients are looking forward to obtain products from animals when they are convinced that a high level of welfare has been assured on each stage of their production.
Podjęto próbę określenia wpływu stosowania w żywieniu tuczników dawek z udziałem CCM, ziemniaków parowanych, pasz przemysłowych oraz śrut zbożowych i serwatki. Najkorzystniejszy wskaźnik paszochłonności uzyskano przy zastosowaniu CCM i śrut zbożowych z udziałem serwatki. Pasze te charakteryzowały się także najniższym przeciętnym kosztem jednostki owsianej, co spowodowało, że jednostkowy koszt przyrostu masy był najniższy, w grupach tych uzyskano także najniższą energochłonność przyrostu masy tuczników oraz najkorzystniejszy wskaźnik sprawności energetycznej .

One could also make such an assessment through various exact methods. This scientific article deals with the method of paired comparison. This paper includes the case study of a product evaluation using this method.
