Relative air humidity and saturation deficit in Leba

100%
The main aim of the paper was to determine the most important features of air humidity in Łeba in the years 1976-2005. The average daily values of relative air humidity (RH) and saturation deficit (SD) from the meteorological station in Łeba were used as basic data for the survey. After initial estimation of dispersion parameters and asymmetry of distribution, these values were calculated for annual and multi-annual periods. The survey findings showed that in Łeba the humidity of air in the analysed period was relatively high (with mean annual RH and SD values – 82.8% and 2.1 hPa respectively). The highest mean air humidity is normally reported in winter months (with maximum in December), while relatively low humidity values are recorded in the warm half-year (Apr.-Sep.). The provided analysis of long-term variability in monthly and annual averages has shown a decreasing trend of air humidity in the region of Łeba. Such conclusion is proved by statistically significant tendencies: growing of moisture deficit and dropping of relative air humidity. The greatest fall in air humidity within the 30-yr period was found in April; while rise was noted only in May. The greatest diversification of mean monthly air humidity values are typical for the period between April and July; the most stable higric conditions are usually recorded in December.
This paper describes the weather conditions on the NE coast of Sørkappland (South Spitsbergen) during August 2005, and considers them in the context of the general synoptic situation over the North Atlantic. A comparison of local climates features for the East and West coast of southern Spitsbergen shows that the general atmospheric circulation and direct solar radiation in summer are the decisive factors affecting weather on the East coast. Foehn effects were observed during the study period. In the East, these were triggered by the westerly cyclonic situation and, in the West, by the easterly. The differences in the intensity of foehn effects may be explained by a specific relief of the Sørkappland peninsula.
This study presents and discusses the results of 2-year measurements of air temperature, air humidity, litter temperature and litter moisture in a broiler house and of ground temperature below the floor and outside the building. Except temporary overheating, air temperature was found to conform to animal breeding standards. Air humidity was too low at the start of rearing and had to be additionally increased. It was subject to considerable fluctuations in the summer cycles. Litter studies showed that broiler chickens were exposed to adequate temperature for 20 days during the winter production cycle and for just 7 days during the summer cycle. Changes in litter moisture showed an upward trend in time. Litter moisture was greater next to walls than in the centre of the production facility. The time course of litter moisture was approximated by a quadratic function. Results of ground temperature measurements revealed considerable heat accumulation in the ground and its cooling during technolo.
The aim of this study is the analysis of relative humidity in timber forest and open area at Kopciowa, near Krynica Zdrój in Beskid Sądecki Mountains. The data comes from psychrometric measurements from 1971-1982, which were collected at the Phytoclimatic Research Station of the Department of Forest Climatology. The lowest values of relative humidity were spring, on average 80% on open area and 85% in timber forest. The highest values were autumn, properly 91% on open area and 94% under forest canopy. In all time periods fluctuations of relative humidity they were small in forest. In individual seasons of year and in vegetation period also, the relative humidity was greatest in forest. The biggest differences, on benefit of forest stand, were in spring months (April, May), the smallest differences were in November and December, and they were on average 4%. The differences of relative humidity for decade periods were between 8 and 15%, in pentad periods from 15 to 30% and in individual days they achieved 50% even.
