Od 1995 r. działa w Polsce Monitoring Jakości Gleb, Roślin, Produktów Roślinnych i Spożywczych. Co roku wykonuje się 30 000 badań jednostkowych zawartości PCB, WWA, pierwiastków toksycznych, mikotoksyn, antybiotyków, azotanów i azotynów, amin biogennych i kwasów tłuszczowych. Wyniki 3-letnich badań wskazują na występowanie małych (poniżej dopuszczalnych norm) stężeń tych substancji w żywności pochodzenia zwierzęcego i roślinnego lub całkowity ich brak.
