Eel-pout taken from the western part of Gulf of Gdańsk contained manganese, copper, iron, and zinc in their muscles at an average level of 0.33, 0.56, 5.9, and 22 mg/kg wet-weight, respectively. The concentration of metals under test in muscle tissue of females decreased and that of males remained relatively constant or decreased (iron) as body lenght of investigated subjects increased. A statistically significant relationship between the following pairs of metals: Fe-Mn, Fe-Cu, and Mn-Zn, was observed.
