In this article legal definition of non-alcoholic beer, its properties, consumer preferences related to its consumption, production technologies and methods of ethanol determination were presented. The quality of selected samples of alcohol-free beer and non-alcoholic beer drinks was evaluated. The determined and declared on the packaging alcohol contents in non-alcoholic beers were compatible. The energy value of the analyzed samples was up to 35 kcal/100 cm³ (about 150 kJ/100 cm³). Almost 1/4 of beverages had isotonic properties (270-330 mOsm/kg H₂O).
