Eggshell quality in commercial laying hens is one of the most important problems of poultry industry. The number of eggs with damaged shell ranging from 8 to 10%, produces considerable economic losses every year. In this article the effects of nutritional factors - macroelements (calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, sodium, chloride), vitamins (D₃, C), microelements (manganese, zinc, copper), aluminosilicate and sodium bicarbonate - on the eggshell quality were discussed.
