The franchising service systems still lag behind the commercial ones, which have, for many years, been demonstrating advantage both in terms of the number of systems and franchising units. Nevertheless, for several years, the increase in service units has been relatively higher than that for the commercial ones, and this trend remains. In 2004, there were operating 88 systems in the Polish market, which had 3900 units. A leading role is played by the services for individual customers and catering networks. A relatively lower number of systems is functioning in such domains as education and tourism. The services for businesses start to develop quite intensively.
