The germination ability and the viability of seeds of 2 species of mulleins (Verbascum phlomoides L. and V. thapsiforrne Scharad.) from Scrophulariaceae family were studied. It was found that during the first year of storage the seeds of both species germinate about 80% irrespective of conditions of laboratory estimation. The seeds keeping 5 years maintain this high germination ability and even increase it to 90%, whereas the seeds of 9 years' storage decrease their germination ability to 20%.
