Subject and purpose of work: The purpose of this study was to analyse and evaluate the operation of argritourism farms in Podlaskie Voivodeship (voivodeship is an equivalent of province in Polish administration), conducted with regard to their structure and market functioning, and the possibility of using the advisory and financial support existing in the region. Materials and methods: The research had a survey form and was conducted in the second half of 2014 on a sample of 120 agritourism farms, which constitutes more than 13% of all entities in Podlaskie Voivodeship. Results: Most of the agritourism farms in the Podlaskie Voivodeship are ones that do not exceed the area of 5 hectares. They are focused on hosting individual guests and families with little children. The majority of farm owners do not have adequate experience in providing agritourism services. The activity of agritourism farms is based primarily on the proprietary capital. Conclusions: Better education and more complete information about the possibilities and ways of obtaining financial support seem to be the key to a more dynamic and efficient development of agritourism in the rural areas of Podlaskie Voivodeship.

Subject and purpose of work: The study presents the effects of agricultural advisory services in the eastern part of Mazovia. The effect of advisory work was the number of services provided by advisers over a three-year-long period of their work. The state institution providing advisory services for farmers in this area is the Warsaw-based Mazovian Agricultural Advisory Centre (MAAC) with a Branch Office in Siedlce. The main objective of the conducted research was to assess the performance of agricultural advisers within six counties: Siedlce, Węgrów, Garwolin, Łosice, Sokołów and Mińsk, located in the eastern part of Mazovian (pol. Mazowieckie) Province. Materials and methods: The activity of the Siedlce Branch was analysed during the years 2012-2014. Particular attention was paid to the distribution and availability of services to farmers. This study was prepared on the basis of an analysis of available internal documents from MAAC and the literature on this field. Results: Based on the performed studies, it was found that agricultural advisory services play a very important role in the adaptation of farms to changing environmental conditions. Conclusions: Nowadays, in the era of globalisation and integration farmers face new challenges, which would be difficult to meet without an efficient agricultural advisory system.

The purpose of the study was to present the advisory opportunities in the process of linking research and the needs of farmers, with regard to innovative knowledge. In this process the advisory role was shown through the transfer of knowledge involving environmentally friendly practices from research and experiments conducted on demonstration farms. The research material were raw and existing data, gathered through appropriate questionnaires using the method of in-depth interviews and survey method. The descriptive case presents an example of good practice in agricultural extension and advisory services, operating within a created network of cooperation. The network approach is characterised by various formal and informal connections between network participants and the interactions among them. The linkages and interactions between the network participants concern conducting research, designing and implementing solutions and tools, providing advice, and the dissemination of knowledge and innovation. Demonstration farms represent the highest level of agricultural production and are the place of performance of seminars, lectures, demonstrations and shows in order to facilitate the transfer of knowledge from science to practice.

Importance of extension ervices in the realization of agricultural and environmental undertakings in Podkarpacie region is assessed. Results obtained from the study indicate that farmers in Podkarpacie are actively searching funds for and participating in agricultural and environmental programmes. Agricultural and environment advisors play important role in that process, mainly by organizing training workshops, as well as by preparing respective applications and agricultural and environmental plans.
