The studies pertain laboratory evaluation of Mg content as well as interrelations between Mg and Ca in reconstructed daily food rations of the drawn at random, representative selected groups of population from the Wielkopolska region. The studies have been conducted in four consecutive seasons of the year, separately for each sex. The studied food rations covered neither safe nor recommended levels of Mg consumption except of preschool children. Food rations of secondary school youth and of female pensioners satisfied safe levels of Mg feeding norms in less than 60%. The most favourable Ca:Mg rations, based on analytically determined values, were found in daily food rations of secondary school youth and academic school students of either sex as well as of mental workers and female pensioners. Improper relations between Mg and Ca content in daily food rations in all studied population groups, as related to energetic value of the food rations, should be regarded to represent an unfavourable phenomenon.
The objective of this inquiry study, carried out in the midst of intellectuals from 21 to 64 years old, was to define the nutritional value of full day's food rations taken by this population. The degree of realization of recommended standards relative to fundamental nutritive components and selected mineral elements and vitamins, was specified. Well-marked deficiencies resulting from the restricted supply of protein, niacin, ascorbic acid, calcium, iron, and magnesium, were found. In rations under investigation, an oversupply of fats at the level determining their energetic value, was also observed.
Basing on results of an inquiry study carried out in the midst of supraelementary school children residing in the Wielkopolska region, the nutritional value of full day's food rations and the realization degree of standards for selected nutritive components, was evaluated. Inadequate supply of most of components under investigation (except fat), was found. Deficiencies concerned chiefly protein, carbohydrates, calcium, magnesium, riboflavin, niacin, and ascorbic acid. The ascertained failure within the realization scope of recommended nutritional standards for above mentir ned components, significant in particular in girl's population, is alarming because it concerns young people at the growing age.
Nutritional value of representative, drawn by lot, full day's food rations of supraelementary school children from 15 to 18 years old and residing in Wielkopolska region, was evaluated with regard to the sex of subjects and year's season. Nutritional value of food ration, was found to depart considerably from the principles of the rational nutrition, and to be dependent on the sex of subjects under evaluation and the year's season. The supply of most nutritive components (except fats), in food rations under test, was shown to be inadequate.
Nutritional value of representative, drawn by lot, full day's food rations of students residing in the Wielkopolska region, was found to be differentiated and conditioned by the year's season and the sex of subjects. Subsequently to the ignorance of rational feeding principles, the degree of realization of recommended nutritional standards was unsatistactory. In rations under test, an oversupply of fats, and deficiency of protein, vitamins, and mineral components, except phosphorus, was observed. The need for a change of nutritional practice of the investigated population, is stressed.
The objective of this inquiry study carried out in the midst of students residing in the Wielkopolska region (villages, little towns, city of Poznań), was to define the nutritional value of full day's food rations taken by this population, and to ascertain to what degree these rations do satisfy a demand for supply of basic nutritive components. Basing on the compiled inquiries, essential deficiencies of fundamental nutritive components (proteins and carbohydrates) and some mineral elements (calcium, iron, magnesium), were established. The supply of riboflavin, niacin, and L-ascorbic acid was found to be inadequate. Oversupply of fats was estimated to be very disadvantageous.
