Yield dynamics of a field crop rotation in the years 1966-1993 as well as the changes in the composition of sorption complex from different systems of fertilization based on the results obtained from a long-term experiment with the application of fertilizers carried out in Łyczyn on light soil were presented. The application of fertilizers in combination with long-term use of farmyard manure and lime is most appropriate for light soils. Fertilization without addition of lime for a short time leads to drastic decreament of the indices of soil fertility and yields. The use of organic fertilizer in combination with only the addition of lime for a long duration causes a fall in yield of about 40-60% in comparison with the system which joins the application of fertilizers with the addition of farmyard manure and lime.
