Of sever al remains of ela smobranch fishes, found in the Lower Tortonian Leitha-limestones at Pińczow, 6 forms are briefly described, so far either unknown from the territory of Poland, or insufficiently known. An attention is paid to the occurrence of the two species, characteristic of tropical seas: Hemipristis serra Ag. and Aetobatis arcuatus Ag.

Description is given of the Upper Cambrian trilobite ichnocoenosls, i.e. a trace assemblage of the various life activities of trilobites, from the shallow-water marine deposits at Wielka Wiśniówka in the Holy Cross Mountains (Góry Świętokrzyskie). These traces occur either on the upper sides of layers (true traces) or on the lower sides of layers covering grooves made by trilobites on the sea bottom (sole markings = hieroglyphs). Hieroglyphs are the more common forms. Out of them, Rusophycus sp., Cruziana sp., Diplichnites sp. and Dimorphichnus sp. have been described in greater detail. Bergaueria perata Prantl and Diplocraterion sp. hieroglyphs are also encountered in the trilobite ichnocoenosis here reported.

An interesting collection of Mycenastrum coriumfrom Suwałki Region (NE Poland) close to the Russian and Lithuenian frontiers is presented in this paper. Two specimens were found ca. 20 cm under the soil surface. Macro- and micromorphological features are compared with those of Mycenastrum coriumgrowing at the surface.

Isolated marginal teeth and tooth crowns of Late Campanian and Late Maastrichtian mosasaurid reptiles (Squamata, Platynota) from the Wisła River valley area, central Poland, are described and illustrated. These comprise two Late Campanian taxa from Piotrawin quarry: Prognathodon sp. and Plioplatecarpinae sp. A., and four late Late Maastrichtian taxa from Nasiłów quarry: Mosasaurus cf. hoffmanni Mantell, 1829, M. cf. lemonnieri Dollo, 1889c, “Mosasaurus (Leiodon) cfr. anceps” sensu Arambourg (1952), and Plioplatecarpinae sp. B. In addition, the previously described fragmentary jaw with associated teeth of the Late Campanian age from Maruszów quarry (west of the Wisła River area), is reassigned to Mosasaurus cf. hoffmanni. This specimen suggests that M. hoffmanni or a closely related (ancestral?) species already appeared in Europe during the Late Campanian (well−documented European occurrences of M. hoffmanni are Late Maastrichtian in age). At least part of the described mosasaur material is likely to stem from periodic feeding in the area (broken−off or shed tooth crowns) or from floating carcasses (complete teeth and jaw fragments).
