The paper presents faunistic data concerning new localities of 20 Carabidae species, which have been rarely reported so far from the Masurian Lake District. One of these species, Calathus mollis (MARSHAM, 1802) has been reported from this region for the first time. Carabids were collected in an agricultural landscape at two types of field complexes: small fields cultivated in a rather traditional way as well as intensively managed large area fields. The presented data complete and update the knowledge on distribution of Carabidae in the Masurian Lake District.
New localities of Abax carinatus on Polish lowlands are presented. Although the species is usually considered as a montane one, we found it for the first time in three Polish lowland regions: the Pomeranian Lake District, Mazovian Lowland and Podlasie. In the light of these findings Abax carinatus should be considered simply a forest species rather than a montane one. From the perspective of Polish findings we also analyse the occurrence of Abax carinatus on lowlands in the neighbouring countries.
New records of 13 rare species of Dermestidae are presented. Attagenus punctatus is new for the Pomeranian Lake District, Anthrenus picturatus new for Lower Silesia, Reesa vespulae is reported from the Masovian Lowland for the first time, and Trogoderma angustum is newly reported from the Kraków-Wieluń Upland.
New distributional records of 10 species of Dermestinae and Trinodinae in Poland, based on the author`s and contributor`s own data, are presented. Altogether the data comprise 188 localities, which cover 19 (out of 25) regions proposed in the Catalogue of Polish Fauna, and 146 UTM 10×10 km squares. Most of the species considered in this paper have been recorded for the first time from at least one region in the country. From the Świętokrzyskie Mts. the newly reported are Dermestes frischii, D. laniarius, D. undulatus and Trinodes hirtus. New to the Sandomierz Lowland are Dermestes bicolor, D. frischii and D. undulatus. Newly reported from the Eastern Sudety Mts. are D. lardarius and D. murinus. The following species respectively are new to the other five regions: D. ater to Lower Silesia, D. bicolor to Kraków-Wieluń Upland, D. lardarius to Nowy Targ Basin and D. undulatus to Masurian Lake District and Podlasie. The records of Dermestinae from the Eastern Sudety Mts. and Nowy Targ Basin are the first ones from these regions.
