One of the possibilities still often used also in advanced countries is manual or hybrid dismantling of end-of-life products. Because there are quite high work force costs in manual dismantling, it seems to be more efficient to manually dismantle bigger consumer products as small products. Our study is trying to verify this statement through evaluation and comparison of economic efficiency of manual dismantling of two different consumer electronic products (washing machine and mobile phone). In the case of washing machine, there is a much of metal (about 60 %) in its body in comparison with mobile phone which contains only about 4 % of metal parts in its weight, so the revenues and final loss of dismantling are accordingly influenced by this. The total loss from dismantling of one washing machine is calculated as - 3,112 EUR and for one mobile phone is equal to -0,5538 EUR. From the calculated numbers we found out, that for comparison of economic efficiency of dismantling of different products would be better not to compare absolute loss for one product, but to compare ratio of loss to average product price.
The issue of investment decision making has been described extensively in the literature. The article uses classical evaluation methods to assess two investment options for the treatment of brewers' grains as waste (resp. byproducts). As indicated by the results of the analysis, the considered production of brewers' grains for energy is more economically preferable than selling it.
This paper presents the universal manual production systems (MPS), which are developed in accordance with various aspects of lean manufacturing. They allow quick and easy design and implementation of lean manufacturing facilities. Requirements for modern, lean manufacturing are more and more focusing on individual modules of manufacturing systems. In fact, the focus is on an integrated system with the concept of joint implementation.
The paper is concerning on productivity measurement indicators and their application on manufacturing orders. The goal of the paper is to apply selected productivity measurement indicators to individual manufacturing order and compare productivity results in two periods.
The paper suggests to worldwide problem of standing waters eutrophication. It describes one of the possible solutions of the problem - design and application of the electrolytic equipment. It indicates effects of its application in practice. The second part of the paper deals with possibilities of economic efficiency evaluation of development and application of the equipment.
Contribution is focused on problem of eutrophication of stagnant water, current situation in specified area and existing legislation in water management in Slovak Republic. It describes consequences of eutrophication, current state of natural swimming pools water quality in Slovakia, comprehensively evaluates summer tourist season, natural swimming pools in 2010 and stresses the need of developing new, economically less demanding and environmentally friendly methods that will be effective in fight against excessive growth of cyanobacteria water blooms.
