Water resistance of glue lines in windows made of selected exotic wood species. The paper presents test results for water resistance of glue lines of 2K PVAC/Al(NO3)3, EPI, and PUR adhesives and respectively white meranti, eucalyptus and sapele wood. The glue lines were assessed for their shear strength after soaking in water, as well as for their delamination degree and shear strength decrease after delamination test. The results obtained were compared with relevant national and European criteria for semi−finished products used in windows, during which the following glue lines proved compliant: EPI and PUR − white meranti wood, PVAC/Al(NO3)3, EPI and PUR − eucalyptus wood, and PUR − sapele wood. At the same time it was also observed that strength of glue lines in the control samples of white meranti products had not complied with national requirements.
