Calceostoma durdanae sp. n. has been illustrated and figured for the specimens collected from the gill filaments of a marine fish, Lutianus yapilli (Day) from Bay of Bengal, at Puri coast, India. The new species differs from C. glandulosum and C. paronai in having intenstinal crura with separate endings; and from C. calceostoma in the absence of a cirrus sheath, in the presence of an accessory piece and long annulated haptoral stalk. This is first report of this genus from India. The generic diagnosis of the genus Calceostoma is also emended. C. herculanea Euzet et Vala, 1975 is considered as a synonym of C. calceostoma, and a new name C. paronai nom. nov. is given for the specimen of Parona and Perugia 1892, as it differs from the type in having intenstinal crura with confluent ending.
