The aim of this work was to study the effect of new chemical products: azoxystrobin, pyraclostrobin/boksalid, trifloxystrobin, iprodione and natural products: extract with grapefruit, oil of tea tree and extract with a lot of species herbs to control black cross (Alternaria spp.), gray mold (Botrytis cinerea) and clubroot (Plasmodiophora brassicae) on cruciferous crops in Poland. The most effective products against black cross were fungicidies with strobilurin group and containing cyprodinil/fludioksonil or alternately applications naturals products. The best control of clubroot in microplots trials gave natural product.
The aim of this work was to study the effect of new, conventional and natural products using preharvest treatments of head and chinese cabbage and their influence on control of postharvest diseases (grey mould and bacterial rot) in long-term storage. The most effective products against grey mould of head cabbage during long-term storage were: Signum 33 WG (0.75 kg/ha), Teldor 500 SC (1.5 l/ha), Amistar 250 SC (0.8 l/ha). Their effectiveness was similar to the reference product Amistar 250 SC (0.8 l/ha). The most protective control of bacterial rot and grey mould during long-term storage of chinese cabbage was obtained after treatment with Signum 33 WG (0.75–1.0 kg/ha) and Amistar Opti 480 SC (2.1 l/ha). High efficiency was obtained also after applying natural products: Timorex (7.5 l/ha), BM 608 (5.6 l/ha) and Prev-AM 060 SL (3.0 l/ha).
In two performed trials powdery mildew of tomato was observed at middle level of infection on tomato. Tank mix of azoxystrobin and difenoconazole in concentration respectively 0.011 + 0.006, sulphur, bupirimat and difenoconazole showed high efficacy in control of powdery mildew (Oidium lycopersici) on tomato grown under cover. Orange oil, grapefruit extract and melaleuca oil gave satisfactory control of this disease.
The aim of study was to assess the effect of carrot seed dressing with selected isolates of the fungus Trichoderma spp. against damping-off seedlings of carrots. It was shown that the used isolates of Trichoderma spp. significantly reduced the infection of germinating seeds and carrots seedlings by the pathogenic fungus species Pythium spp. The use of Trichoderma spp. more efficiently affected the height and weight of the tested carrot seedlings as compared to thestandart seed dressing Zaprawa Nasienna T 75 DS/WS, as well as the biopreparation based on Trichoderma harzianum. No effect of phytotoxicity of Trichoderma spp. isolates used on seed germination and the development of carrot seedlings was started.
The aim of the research performed in 2008 was the evaluation of effects of seed dressing of onion, carrot, parsley, white cabbage and cucumber against some soil pathogens. Their effectiveness was compared with the standard products. The research showed that the investigated fungicides and their mixtures improved germination and health of seeds. The most effective were Zaprawa Funaben T (tiuram + karbendazim) + Apron XL 350 ES (metalaxyl), Zaprawa Nasienna T Zawiesinowa (tiuram). These chemicals were more effective than the standard product, Sancozeb 80 WP (containing mancozeb).
