Koeleria species are long-lived bunchgrass native to North America, Eurasia and Africa. Found through open prairie and parkland regions, but less common in open-bush areas. Above genus is considered to be a morphologically complicated one and it is difficult to find any useful characters for discrimination of either the species or the infraspecific taxa (FREY, 1993). The aim of above studies was to define variability of some ecotypes from genus Koeleria for the purpose of further work on selecting material as a turf grass. The analysis of phenological and morphological variation of 11 ecotypes of three species: Koeleria macrantha, Koeleria pyramidata, Koeleria vallesiana were carried on. It was concluded that ecotypes from Koeleria pyramidata are the most homogenous group from all examined. Two groups in Koeleria macrantha species wcre selected on the basis of heading date: very early and very late (difference of mean heading date between – 6.3). Variation observed in three Koeleria species is essential to further experiments and creation of forms with expected turf quality.
Characteristics or phenotypic specific and intraspecific reatures of fungal strains isolated from the organ ontocenoses in patients after renal transplantation. The aim of present study was to describe 60 specific and intraspecific features of fungal strains isolated from the organ ontocenoses: oral cavity, rectum and genital organs in 32 patients undergoing permanent immunosupression after renal transplantation. Fungal strains identified using API 20 C and API 20 C AUX (bioMérieux). The activity or 19 hydrolases was investigated using API ZYM. Among 41 strains of fungi the following were found: Candida albicans (31 strains), C. glabrata (5), C. guilliermondii (2), C. krusei (2) and Saccharomyces cerevisiae (1). The number of fungal strains isolated from the oral cavity was the highest (21), less numerous from rectum (12) and the least from the genital organs (8). The enzymograms were described for all strains and the highest activity was noted in case of: e₆ -leucine arylamidase, e₁₁-phosphatase acid, e₃-esterase (C4), e₁₂-naphtol-AS-BI-phosphohydrolase. The activity of these enzymes is connected with higher pathogenicity of C. albicans strains.
24 potworm specles have been found in the forest habitats studied in Puszcza Kampinoska. Species diversitv of Enchytraeidae decreases' with deteriorating trophic and moisture conditions. Potworm communities in alder swamps and mixed forests have a characteristic species cornposition and structure. Linden-oak-hornbeam forests with a variety of habitats present accomrnodate a number ofdistinct potworm communities.
