The authors discuss the nature of the Polish house by using typical examples: the mansion, farmhouse, tenement building, the recent house, and a large block of flats. Describing the features of these dwellings - also in the arrangement of the interior - they focus on their national character. The tradition of the Polish house is connected not only with its specific functions and construction, but also with its proportions, the layout and the location. The beauty of the Polish architecture created over centuries and preserved by the tradition can continue even in the contemporary development only if we are willing to draw inspiration from the traditional architecture. It provides numerous worthwhile examples of architectural structures and details.
