Like in the countries with a developed market economy, also in Poland enterprise are looking for more and more efficient tools for competitive struggle. One of them is outsourcing, i. e. handing over the entire (or, at least, part) of logistic service to external subcontractors. The article presents the results of empirical studies carried out in the second quarter of 2005 on a sample group of medium and large trade enterprises with domestic and foreign capital. The studies were aimed at recognition of respondents" intents as to accomplishment of their own logistic solutions, cooperation with external subcontractors and possible changes in proportions between both forms of service.
