In the years 2007–2008 in field experiments conducted at the Plant Breeding and Acclimatization Institute, Department of Seed Science and Plant Protection in Bonin the effect of tubers cutting and dates of seed dressing (before sprouting, before stimulation and before planting) on emergence rate, infection by Rhizoctonia were estimated. The efficacy of three pesticides (Dithane Neo Tec 75 WG, Monceren 250 FS and Prestige 290 FS) in field experiments was tested. Negative influence of tuber cutting and seed dressing on potato plant of emergence rate was not observed. The seed dressing significantly decreased potato plant number infected by Rhizoctonia solani. A profitable influence of seed dressing before planting on tuber yield was observed independently on true way of tuber preparation (whole and cut) and dates of application.

The healthiness analysis of Sparaxis sp. corms was carried out in the years 2002-2003 on the experimental fields of The Agricultural University near Lublin. Plants were cultivated in trials treated with: Asahi SL (sodium nitrophenole derivates), Tytanit (tytanium), herbicides: Afalon 450 SC (linuron), Devrinol 450 SC (napropamide), Stomp 400 SC (pendimethaline) and in control trial without treatment. The healthiness was evaluated after digging and after storage. Among fungi isolated from sparaxis corms after digging and storage, the species Fusarium oxysporum predominated. The corms infected with it were deformed, wrinkled and covered with brown, scaby lesions. This species also dominated among fungi isolated from all the trials, regardless a preparation applied. The disease index values ranged within 6.0 - 9.25 after digging and within 9.25 - 15.75 after storage respectively. There was no a marked positive effect of a used preparation on the healthiness of sparaxis corms.

In two-year field investigations (2008 and 2009) the effect of used preparations on heath status of roots and seedling shoots of celery cvs Edward Mentor and Talar was studied. During experiments Biochikol 020 PC (chitosan 20 g/l), Biosept 33 SL (grapefruit extract 33%), Polyversum WP (106 oospores Pythium oligandrum/1 g) and standard fungicide Gwarant 500 SC (chlorothalonil 500 g/l) and Topsin M 500 SC (tiophanate metyl 500 g/dm3) were used for rootdressing. Fungicides Gwarant 500 SC and Topsin M 500 SC, significantly improved the health status of seedling shoots and seed-yield. The efficacy of preparations Biosept 33 SL and Biochikol 020 PC was lower than standard fungicide, but statistically significantly improved health status and yield compared to control. The application of biopreparation Polyversum WP did not influence significantly to the health of seedling shoots of all tested varieties, and did not increase the yield of seeds.

Na podstawie badań wstępnych oraz 3-letnich doświadczeń ścisłych wykazano, że główną przyczyną zgnilizn korzeni bulwiastych dalii w okresie ich przechowywania są grzyby, a wśród nich gatunki: Fusarium culmorum, F. oxyspurum, F. oxysporum var. orthoceras Skład gatunkowy i częstotliwość występowania zidentyfikowanych grzybów w materiale rozmnożeniowym zależy w dużej mierze od rodzaju zastosowanego fungicydu.
