Subject and purpose of work: The main objective of the article is to recommend some solutions in the area of e-tourism which could be introduced by the local government in Wałbrzych as part of activities initiated in 2017 for the development of the Smart City concept. Materials and methods: The implementation of the objective required a detailed analysis and evaluation of the “Strategy for Sustainable Development of Wałbrzych City until 2020”as well as the key task areas of the Smart City Program Council set up in the city, including Task Teams implementing projects of smart urban solutions. In the course of the research, a literature review was also conducted to explore the ways of defining the concept of e-tourism. Results: As a result of the literature research, the authors emphasized different aspects (dimensions) of e-tourism and described the e-tourism model for tourist consumption. The analysis of the strategic municipal documents showed that they did not contain any direct references and plans regarding the development of activities in the area of e-tourism. The current study offers recommendations for the growth of e-tourism in Wałbrzych. Conclusions: In the context of the realisation of “Smart City for the city of Wałbrzych” program, the concept of e-tourism, according to the authors, is an opportunity for the development of tourism in the city and in the region. The catalogue of possible solutions is open and their implementation requires taking into account the needs of different groups of stakeholders, including people with disabilities and the elderly.
Natura 2000 sites can be very attractive for leisure and tourism activities. However, these activities can have a negative impact on protected habitats and species. The main aim of this study was to analyze what forms of tourism and recreation have been developed at Lower Silesian Natura 2000 sites, and what are kinds of their impact and what is their intensity. The main research materials are Standard Data Forms. Among the 13 main types of tourism and leisure activities, found in analyzed sites, hiking, cycling, leisure fishing, hunting and their related infrastructure are the most frequently recorded. The results show that low intensities are most often described. The frequency of occurrence of neutral or negative environmental impacts of these activities is the same. However, no examples of positive impact have been recorded.
Due to state ownership of both free game and most forests in Poland, large hunting districts and low number of hunters, hunting in Polish hunting grounds provides an opportunity to encounter many animal species, often in their almost natural environment. The qualities of Poland’s fauna and flora as well as Poland’s accession to the EU and the resulting ease of movement have contributed to the development of hunt tourism. As a consequence, there has been a rise in the demand for services offered by rural areas inhabitants, which in turn should make local communities recognize the need to preserve the natural environment.
Background: Mountain tourism implies specific aspects in contrast to other components of physical education and sport, by the vast scope and accessibility regardless of physical condition, age and skills or similarities with everyday life activities. We hypothesized that the joint activities, cooperation, interaction and direct communication with the natural and social environment will result in a better understanding of oneself and partners, placing the group structure on real bases, prompting avoidance of possible malfunctions in the subsequent group activity. Material/Methods: Subjects of this sociological research were 48 first-year students, participating in “Mountain tourism and sport orientation” (26 males and 22 females), which applied a sociological survey. To achieve the research’e objectives, we used the following methods: a questionnaire, a statistical and mathematical method and a graphical method. Results: In the most part, previous relationships of acceptance, empathy, trust, rejection or isolation were of the interpersonal type, motivation being that they had not previously – as a group or individually – experienced collaboration, mutual assistance, addiction group and so on. Experiences conducted in a common framework, adapted to everyday comfort, provide false opportunities for the knowledge of the self and one another. The ranking of desired partners would change significantly: the originally agreed out of ”top 10” instead came to be approved by other subjects (46, 48); a symmetrical aspect applies to unwanted partners, and, in fact, produced a reversal of the scale of values. An important aspect is the knowledge and recognition targeting sociometric’s leadership, sense that we can say that the initial place 1, 2, 3 have become 7, 3 and 4 and the final places 1, 2, 3 won the original positions 9, 24 and 2. Conclusions: Knowing the stage achieved in the formation of the group cohesion (through calculation of the cohesion index), before an important step for the group and some period thereafter, will show the effectiveness of the actions taken. Calculation of the index at different stages will reveal in which direction the group evolves: increasing cohesion, stagnant or in decline. The two investigative tools can be a strong support for knowing the socio-emotional bases of a group which usually escapes in direct observation, and especially provides the possibility of an action, an intervention in the group that takes into account the internal organization to enhance its functioning to improve group cohesion, and the establishment of a homogeneous team (an important aspect in sport or other activities with high complexity)

The role of tourism in rural areas of Hungary

59%
Studied by many researchers, tourism has become a major income-generating sector of the economy. Tourism often creates potential and acts as an engine of local economic development for many rural areas however, it is not established in all areas. The utilization of tourism potential in rural areas is sometimes considered to be the “only and last resort” to generating economic growth, even though it is frequently not enough to solve long-lasting and serious problems existing in such areas. Thus, when developing the sector, it is necessary to examine the conditions of a given area. The aim of this study is to discover the touristic possibilities of rural areas and, with the application of certain indicators, quantify and define the long-term potentials of the sector.

Is tourism the way of rural areas development?

59%
The paper discusses problem of rural tourism and agritourism role in the healing of the economic situation of rural areas, especially in a province with the smallest average farm size and favourable natural conditions - namely in Malopolska. Agritourism (farm tourism) as a part of rural tourism is often seen as an opportunity to expand and diversify employment and incomes. But in spite expectations of rural economists agritourism neither solved the farmers’ income problems nor has been developing as expected. Reality of agritourism development was evaluated on the basis of conducted surveys. The perspective of farm tourism development should be seen as a integral part of structural changes of rural economy. In rural tourism development the natural environment has particularly important role and value as the main factor attracting visitors. The level of services offered by agritourism farms has become more and more important. The second important factor signalled by potential tourists is such farms specialisation. Conducted surveys confirmed appreciation of specialisation both by farmers and potential tourists. Farmers indicated financial problems of elevating services standards and specialisation.

51%
The aim of the article is to reveal the essence of tourism as means of outlook formation of a person. The following research methods were used in the paper: desk research analysis of the literature on the subject, Internet sources. Analysis of the collected material allowed the following conclusions: one of the factors influencing tourism development is the need to verify traditional understanding of tourism. According to the authors, ideological, cultural, humanistic, ethical, cognitive, ets. aspects of tourism should be emphasized. Taking this into account, we consider tourism as a factor influencing general worldview of man. In this regard, tourism gives reasons to perceive it from a philosophical perspective, including epistemological, social, axiological, spiritual and other aspects. When considering the phenomenon of tourism from a philosophical point of view, it should be emphasized that tourism promotes unification, communication and socialization as well as the spread of ethical values in a spirit of mutual understanding and respect.

51%
Maritime tourism should be understood not only as a system of fixed, maritime links and attractive cruises but also as individual yacht cruises, and many other forms of spending time on the water or under the water. A special type of tourism is maritime tourism, which includes features such as recreational fishing in the sea. Sport and recreational fishing became popular in Poland in the 90’s of last century. According to the data of harbor masters that keep records of fishing vessels out in the sea, the first effective service providers were the skippers from Łeba and Darłowo. The following study presents the development of specialized tourism in Poland which is fishing tourism with particular emphasis on Darłowo. Rules for organizing fishing trips, and the conditions that must be met in order to start this kind of business were discussed. Another important issues in the article include preparations of individual units for realizing tourist function, presenting additional services provided by the organizers of fishing cruises. On the basis of the survey research, the characteristic of fishing service users has been prepared, taking into account: motives and forms of arrivals, territorial origin of tourists, accommodation and length of stay.

Social implications: The article shows the evolution from separate promotion of the hotels’ and place brands to their natural win-win co-branding; traces effects of such long-life cross-promotion. Originality/value: The paper shows different points of coincidence of business (hotels’ brands) and non-profit/state (place brands) strategies at the area of destination promotion.
This article discusses the subject of the efficiency of the transformation of tourism interest defined as arrivals in tourist accommodation establishments into outputs, such as collective tourist accommodation establishments and GDP per inhabitant in the EU countries. For the measurement of efficiency the DEA method was used and the following models were assumed: CCR, BCC, NIRS. As a result was confirmed that significant similarity in the efficiency of the transformation of the inputs above referred to into outputs was only observed in the group of richer countries (GDP > average for the EU) or in the group of poorer countries. The analysis conducted proved that richer countries achieved higher PTE, while poorer countries achieved higher SE.
