To date, the pipeline construction included trenching - on land or underwater - and stringing the pipes along the trench. It was especially difficult when the route of the pipeline crossed various water bodies. Such pipelines are exposed to damage from disadvantageous impact of natural factors. The technology of no-excavation directional boring, initially used for crossing rivers, is now applied for the non-collisional stringing of pipes and cables underneath transport routes and built-up areas.
