Studies aimed at evaluating texture, rheological properties, colour, drip loss and pH of pork obtained from the Polish breed Wielka Biała Polska (WBP) and its crosses with Pietrain (P), Belgian Landrace (Lb) and Hampshire x Pietrain (HP) when fed diet containing either 100 g/kg of soybean meal (SM) or rapeseed meal (RM). The meat of pigs fed the RM-diet was harder, more gummy, viscous and elastic compared with that of SM-diet fed pigs. RM-diet and SM-diet significantly differentiated the texture and rheological properties of only the W BP-meat. Their effect on the colour, pH and drip loss was statistically insignificant.
