Environmental sponsoring means cooperation between environmental organizations and companies in the field of environmental protection, which leads to advantages for both partners. From the standpoint of environmental organizations and institutions, such sponsoring is aimed at supporting their operation, that is protecting and conserving the environment. For environmental companies, providing support for environmental actions proves that the company is socially aware and contributes to establishing a favourable image of the company. Cooperation between companies and environmental organizations should be a creative effort to contribute to long-term, safe economic activity and functioning of the society. „Principles and guidelines for efficient environmental sponsoring” were formulated in 1994, during the Berlin Forum for Environmental Technology.
