In the paper the author attempts to carry out a comparison between the floristic composition and structure of plant communities present in cereal crops of the rural areas of the Siedlce Upland and the floristic composition and structure of the analogue plant communities found in the area of Siedlce, which is the biggest town of this geographic mesoregion. Tables of the following syntaxons were analysed in the comparative analysis: Papaveretum argemones, Papaver argemones-Vicia tetrasperma, Vicietum tetraspermae scleranthetosum and Vicietum teraspermae typicum. It was observed that the urban plant communities had a greater floristic variety, a greater participation of perennial and ruderal species, as well as, a more complex phytosociological structure, with the exception of few typical patches, comprising diagnostic species of various syntaxons.
This paper presents the result of researches on the segetal vegetation of the Bolimów Nature Park. In the area of research, 10 segetal associations and 1 community - 5 associations and 1 community of the Secalietea class and 5 associations of the Chenopodietea class - have been found. Among them following ones are quite interesting: Community with Saxifraga tridactylites, Galio-Ranunculetum arvensis, Veronico-Setarietum pumilae and Bilderdykio- Lamietum amplexicaule.
Parietaria pensvlvanica Mühlenb ex. Willd is a species nalive to North America, whose occurrence in Poland was first reported in Bydgoszcz in 1991. Its biology and ecology has been researched since 1996. The present paper discusses measurements and phenological observations carried out on four selected populations during the vegetation season in 1997. The aim of the research was to determine potentialities of the migration of P. pensylvanica from park habitats to segetal communities, on the basis of a defined life strategy of the examined populations. The analysis focused on the dynamics of density and bipniiiss as well as on the weight of 1000 nucules, against the habitat conditions. The findings demonstrated that the investigated species was characterised by a set of life strategy properties referred lo as C-S-R or S-R, and was subject to the "r"-type selection. P. pensylvanica has become an integral pari of the Bydgoszcz flora and is likely to expand into segetal communities of agricultural and vegetable crops.
A field experiment was conducted in the period 2006- 2008 on incomplete podzolic soil. The present study investigated the effect of different doses of the herbicides Mustang 306 SE and Attribut 70 WG as well as of the foliar fertilizers Insol 3 and FoliCare 18:18:18 on the biodiversity of weeds in a winter triticale crop, ‘Todan’. The segetal flora was assessed 6 weeks after the application of the herbicides and before the harvest of the triticale crop. The herbicides were applied together at labelled doses as well as at doses reduced to 75% and by half. Spraying with the foliar fertilizers was done twice during the growing period. Plots in which no herbicides or foliar fertilizers were used were the control treatment. Matricaria maritima and Viola arvensis from the dicotyledonous class were predominant in the winter triticale crop, whereas Apera spica-venti was the dominant species among the monocotyledons. The weed control efficacy of the reduced herbicide doses was weaker compared to the labelled rates by, respectively, from 6% to 9% at the first time of weed infestation assessment and from 4% to 8% at the second assessment time. Simultaneously, air-dry weight of weeds in the herbicide-treated plots did not differ significantly. This indicates that it is possible to reduce herbicide doses in a winter triticale crop without a risk of increased weed infestation.
This paper presents the result of researches on the segetal vegetation of the Sulejów Nature Park. In the area of research, 10 segetal associations - 5 of the Secalietea class and 5 of the Chenopodietea - have been found. Among them following ones are quite interesting: Caucalido-Scandicetum, Lamio-Veronicetum politae and Bilderdykio-Lamietum amplexicaule.
The paper presents the results of the research on plant communities in arable fields in Wroc³aw city (a capital of Lower Silesia, in the south-west of Poland). The investigations were carried on applying the commonly accepted Braun- Blanquet method. Two plant associations have been identified in cereal fields of the investigated area: Vicietum tetraspermae and Aphano-Matricarietum. The first of the mentioned associations developed worse than the second one which is its geographical substitute. Two other associations have been identified in fields containing root crops: Galinsogo-Setarietum and Echinochloo-Setarietum. All of these associations occur in surrounding areas of the city in specific habitats which indicate particular soil reaction, moisture content and nitrogen reserves.
The article presents plant communities of the projected nature reserve Matunin, which covers a fragment of a flood terrace of the River Odra valley and includes the Matunin oxbow lake (situated near Jelcz) and its surroundings: alluvial meadows, fields and patches of riverine shrubs and forests. Many interesting and rare plant communities, bound to oxbow lakes and riverine floodedareas, such as Trapetum natantis, Lemno minoris-Salvinietum natantis, Nupharo-Nymphaeetum albae, Rhamno-Cornetum sanguinei and Ficario-Ulmetum minoris have been found here.
