The aim of the research was to determine the influence of date of protective treatment with fungicides on infection of winter oilseed rape by Sclerotinia sclerotiorum in dependence on weather conditions. Field experiments were carried out in 2004/2005–2008/2009 in Agricultural Experimental Station IPP – NRI in Winna Góra (Western region of Wielkopolska). Two cultivars of oilseed rape – Lisek and Kaszub were examined. Fungicidal protection was performed at three phases of plant development: green bud, yellow bud, full flowering. Significant differences in weight of thousand grains, per cent of infected plants and level of yield were observed in studied cultivars after fungicidal treatment. Fungicides applied in the phase of full flowering were the most effective in reducing of infection by S. sclerotiorum and increasing weight of thousand grains. Seed yield was negatively correlated with average per cent of infected plants. The infection of oilseed rape by S. sclerotiorum was in a high degree dependent on air humidity.
The aim of performed studies in frame of Post-Registration Variety Testing System was the assessment of economic value of registered winter oilseed rape cultivars, and their usefulness for cultivation in different regions as well as climatic and soil conditions. Field experiments with winter oilseed rape cultivars were carried out in the district of Wielkopolska in four localities (Experimental Stations for Variety Testing) in 2006–2009. The following agricultural features of cultivars were taken into consideration: overwintering, plant height, yielding and intensity of disease occurrence (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum and Phoma lingam). The results of evaluation of phytosanitary conditions of winter oilseed rape cultivars were compared with the assessment of the Main Inspectorate of Plant Heath and Seed Inspection. On the basis of obtained results some winter oilseed rape varieties can be recommended for agricultural practice in climate and soil conditions of Wielkopolska region. Moreover, the results of presented studies are very useful in working out a strategy of integrated production of winter oilseed rape organic farming production system.
