The polypropylene was selected and used as a construction material for filtering plates in food processing industry. That material was allowed by the State Department of Hygiene to close contacts with the food products. In laboratory investigation of chemical resistance to the liquid food products such as fruit musts, dessert wines, acetic acid and ethanol the entire resistance of polypropylene to tested media was confirmed. The prototype polypropylene plates for XFC-28 and XFC-29 filter presses were tested in laboratory on a test stand and on industrial scale in DAGOMA food processing plant in Gdańsk. The results of tests were deseribed and commented.
