The systems of sewage dispozal and purification used commonly by the farmers were presented against a background of spatial structure of rural settlement and general state of sewage dispozal and treatment in Poland. It was stated that some recent technical solutions dealing with purification of small sewage amounts - when implemented into engineers’ practice - do not comply with the expectations on effective environment protection. However, the small plants without drainage, would secure the environment against pollution at efficient sewage purification. Technological system of such a plant would consist of mechanical treatment section, biological treatment plant (e.g. soil-vegetation or peat field), pond for biologically treated sewage (grown with the hydromacrophytes) and a grassland polder for use in summer period. Proposed method of sewage treatment is well founded scientifically and - in the nearest future - may be a popular solution of purifying small sewage amounts. Simulation studies of considered sewage treatment plant of 10 m³/day capacity were also made.
