Tough the trade enterprises operating in the Polish market for consumer goods start to treat logistic service of their activities as a tool for competitive struggle, nevertheless, the hitherto solutions in this area have been lagging as compared with foreign ones. In this article, the author discusses the results of empirical studies on the three groups of issues. The first relates to forms of logistic service and reasons for application thereof at trade enterprises. The second is quality of logistic infrastructure of domestic and foreign traders, and its impact on the standard of client (customer) servicing. The third is a scope of cooperation of trade enterprises with logistic service providers.
