First of all, there was explained and justified the goal of science activity aimed at preparation of the recipe of the most common used in Laboratory for Transit Packaging Testing standard liquid: lacquer petrol. Next, there was made a review of commercially available petroleum products concerning their suitability for preparing of the standard liquid with required parameters. Later there was selected a number of petroleum products as raw materials to produce a mixture of hydrocarbons meeting the requirements of ADR and RID, as a standard liquid. Finally authors have prepared a number of test mixtures of petroleum products with known parameters in order to compare them with resulting parameters and made several theoretical simulations for improving of the standard liquid parameters.
