Paper reports the progress in soil moisture content measuring methods with respect to their application for agriculturally used peat-moorsh soils. The analysis of applicability of the soil moisture content measuring methods to peat-moorsh soils showed the necessity of their bulk density determination in measuring procedure. Presented review showed that the highest progress was achieved in development of tensiometer and time-domain reflectometry (TDR) methods. These methods may be recommended to application in agriculturally used peat-moorsh soils, because they are modern and fullfil the criteria such as: selectivity, destructivity, continuity and accuracy, which are required at field measurements of soil moisture content.
Badano wydzielone fragmenty małego torfowiska przedzielonego trakcją kolejową. Opisano 8 profilów (47 próbek glebowych). Celem badań była charakterystyka substancji humusowych i po-równanie składu frakcyjnego północnej i południowej części torfowiska oddzielonych nasypem ko-lejowym. Opisywane gleby klasyfikowano jako gleby torfowe i murszowe o wysokim lub średnim stopniu rozwoju procesu torfotwórczego (Ptll-III) i średnim stopniu rozwoju procesu murszowego (MtII). Ilość wydzielonego C-kwasów huminowych (Ckh) dominowała nad ilością wydzielonego C-kwasów fulwowych (Ckf). W obrębie tych frakcji dominowały „wolne" kwasy huminowe i ful- wowe. W północnej części torfowiska wykazano wysokie zawartości N, C, C-kwasów humino¬wych i wyższy stopień rozkładu materii organicznej niż w części południowej.
