In presented paper results of authenticity investigation of commercial apple juices available on Polish market before EU accession are presented. The most important parameters listed in AIJN Code of Practice were taken into account during investigations. Moreover investigations of phenolics content and antioxidant activity of juices were carried out. Results showed that before joining EU commercial apple juices produced according to the national standard did not, in many cases, fulfill requirements of the EU market. Commercial apple juices were characterized by large variation of phenolic compounds and antioxidant activity content. Results obtained showed that in case of clear juices significant effect on their antioxidative activity has content of phenolic compounds particularly chlorogenic acid.
