The aim of this work was to study the fungistatic activity of pure flusilazole and two fungicides containing this active compound on the growth of fungal species: Leptosphaeria maculans and L. biglobosa. Both pathogens cause stem canker – a damaging disease of oilseed rape in Europe, Canada and Australia. The experiment was done in vitro using PDA medium supplemented with flusilazole, from 0 (control) to 1.5 ppm of the active compound. The results of two independent series of the biotest indicated statistical differences between the fungi in respect to their growth in response to flusilazole. The species L. biglobosa required 2–3 times higher doses of the active substance as compared to L. maculans. This finding has important consequences connected with the protection of oilseed rape, especially in eastern Poland, where L. biglobosa is a prevailing pathogen of this crop.
