The objective of this study was to develop a model to assess economical and balanced feed rations for sport horses. It was based on nonparametric modelling with a combination of linear programming and a multiobjective optimization technique: weighted goal programming. The method incorporates multiple goals into optimization. The technical data presented the feed nutritional value (dry matter, metabolizable energy, metabolizable protein, etc.) and nutritional requirements, which were represented in weighted goal programming as targets. The model was tested for optimization of winter and summer feed rations, where summer feed rations are more expensive but more balanced. Optimization results show that the method of weighted goal programming is more accurate and useful in practice compared with linear programming, where only one goal (economically optimal feed rationing) is taken into account.
The aim of the study was to determine the effect of an organic form of mineral supplement containing copper, zinc and manganese on the concentration of these elements in the coat (hair) of Polish Konik horses. Possible impact of the rearing conditions of 24 Polish Konik foals (which originated from stables and nature reserves), their sex and duration of the supplementation on the coat’s mineral composition was considered. The research included 24 horses: 12 stabled (six fillies and six colts) and 12 captured in a nature reserve (seven fillies and five colts). Ten samples of fodder and 60 samples of coats were analysed. The influence of the rearing system on the concentration of elements in the coat was observed, for example stabled horses had a higher content of copper in the coat while the content of zinc and especially manganese was lower. All horses, both reared in a stable and from the nature reserve, showed higher copper concentrations in their coat (P ≤ 0.05) after supplementation with copper, while an increased amount of zinc was observed only in animals reared in a stable. All horses (both stabled and wild ones) demonstrated an evident change in the manganese content of their coat after supplementation with a chelate. The content grew significantly (P ≤ 0.01) with the supplementation time. An interaction between the sex and chelate supplementation time was observed only in the case of manganese administered to animals reared in a stable.
The aim of the study was to determine what impact feeding juvenile common whitefish, Coregonus lavaretus (L.), different feed rations had on rearing indexes and oxygen consumption during culture in recirculation systems. Three feeding treatments were applied: 2% (group L), 3% (group M), 4% (group H) of fish biomass. The final juvenile common whitefish weight increased with increasing daily feed rations. Fish from group H (largest feed ration) had statistically significantly (P < 0.05) higher body weights (50.3 g) and higher feed conversion ratios (1.14) than did the fish in the other two groups. However, the lowest oxygen consumption (192.9 mg O2 kg-1 h-1) was noted in group L (smallest feed ration). The results of the experiment indicated that the size of the daily feed ration has a significant impact on the rearing results and oxygen requirements of juvenile common whitefish. The optimum daily feed ration for juvenile whitefish weighing 10-45 g and at a water temperature of 18.0°C is 3% of the stocking density.
The study was aimed at determining effects of feed ration on growth, within-group variability, and chemical composition of the body of juvenile zander (c. 25 g initial individual weight) grown out in a recirculation system for 42 days. The fish were fed a commercial pelleted trout feed offered at three rations (Group L: 1.2% of stock biomass; Group M: 1.6% of stock biomass; and Group H: 2.0% of stock biomass). Each experimental treatment involved two replicates. The feed rations used were found to significantly (p < 0.01) affect fish growth: the mean body weight on termination of the experiment was 47.9, 60.3, and 69.4 g in Group L, M, and H, respectively. Statistically significant differences were revealed also in SGR and fish condition. The most favourable food conversion ratio (FCR) and protein efficiency ratio (PER) were found in Group M, the between-group differences being significant as well (p < 0.05).

Остальных ягнят кормили индивидуальн но на протяжении 100 дней рационами содержащими около 18 М энергии брутто на 1 кг сухого вещества и 14,5% (группа 1N) или около 18% (группы I, II и III) общего белка в сухом веществе. Источником белка были: рыбная мука (I), послеэкстрационный соевый шрот (и) или ячменно-мочевинный препарат (III). В конце опыта было убито по 4 ягнята из каждой группы, определяя морфологический и химический состав тела. Суточные привесы (195, 189, 178 и 179 г в группах I, II, III и 1У соответственно) и использование сухого вещества (4,6-5,1 кг) и общего белка (0,82-1,04 кг) не разнились существенно между группами. Подобным образом не установлено существенных различий в приросте элементов тела (кг. напр. прирост белка 3,1-3,6 кг) и в их участии (%) в т.наз. „живом весе нетто". Тем не менее, во всех случаях были получены самые высокие показатели в группе I, что указывает на значение качества белка для растущих ягнят.
