Located in the south of the Warsaw conurbation (in Ursynow), the Imielinskie Lake, a reservoir of underground and surface waters, is a the relict of the ice age - so unique in terms of Masovia region. Owing to its natural beauty, it was listed as part of the natural heritage. However, recently the lake has lost its status under the pressure from the developers and the local land owners. The natural beauty of the lake now faces destruction owing to bureaucratic trickery and illegal development.
