Some probabilistic properties of surf parameter

An autochthonous community of benthic diatoms was discovered in June 2015 in the upper sediment layer at depths of 170, 205, and 245 m in the central Barents Sea. At least three benthic microalgae species (Gyrosigma fasciola, Pleurosigma angulatum, and Pleurosigma sp. 1) were detected in the sediment but not the upper water column. Analyses revealed that these benthic microalgae represent a depleted fragment of Arctic littoral microphytobenthos. Compared with the littoral flora, the deep-water assemblage is less diverse and displays low abundance. The data reported here challenge the generally accepted belief that the presence of certain microalgae at significant depths results from vertical or horizontal transfer.
During the Devonian the sedimentation on the continental shelves of Ardenne Massif and Boulonnais has changed from a mixed siliciclastic-carbonate ramp (Eifelian), through a carbonate barrier reef (Givetian) and then to a detritic influx with local mud-mounds (Frasnian). Here we analysed the faunistic dynamics of the trilobite associations through the changing environment. We used multivariate analyses (clustering and ordering) to discriminate the trilobite associations within 67 different samples. Three previously known communities and one new were recognised: the Eifelian Mixed association, the Givetian Dechenella association and the two Frasnian Bradocryphaeus and Scutellum-Goldius associations. These trilobite faunas present a progressive ecological specialisation. The Mixed association occurs both in the ramp or carbonated (local reef developed on the ramp) facies without any significant difference in its composition. The Dechenella fauna occurs preferentially close to barrier reefs, but can also survive during short periods of detrital input. The two Frasnian communities show a strong relationship with their environment. The Scutellum-Goldius association is only found in reef systems, whereas the Bradocryphaeus flourishes exclusively in lateral facies.
The present paper dealt with the annual dynamics of the absorption coefficient of chromophoric dissolved organic matter at 440 nm {aCDOM(440)} during February 2015 to January 2016 in the continental shelf of northern Bay of Bengal (nBoB) for the first time. Sea surface salinity (SSS), chlorophyll-a (Chl-a), total suspended matter (TSM) were also analyzed. It was hypothesized that CDOM should exhibit significant spatial and temporal variability in this region. aCDOM(440) and spectral slope ranged between 0.1002 m1—0.6631 m1 and 0.0071 nm1— 0.0229 nm1 respectively during the entire study period. Higher values of aCDOM(440) were observed in the near shore stations and gradually decreased towards the offshore. Significant seasonal variability of aCDOM(440) was observed between the monsoon and non-monsoon seasons ( p < 0.05). Thus the framed hypothesis was successfully accepted by means of the present study. The CDOM was mainly found to be of allochthonous character in this region. aCDOM(440) portrayed a significant negative linear relationship with SSS (R2 = 0.80; p < 0.05) implying conservative mixing of marine and terrestrial end members. However, examining the spatial variability of the relationship, it was observed that this relationship was significant only in the nearshore stations. While examining the seasonal variability of this relationship, it was found to be most significant during the monsoon (R2 = 0.81; p < 0.05). Thus it was inferred that whenever the SSS gradient was higher, the relationship between aCDOM(440) and SSS was found to be most significant.
