The paper presents problems of the sustainable consumption. The study focused on an example product, i.e. vegetable oils. One of the elements ensuring sustainable consumption is connected with the development of proper consumption patterns. It is a complex issue, since it requires multifaceted interdisciplinary studies. The starting point for their development is provided by the characteristics of profi les of vegetable oil consumers in Poland in a view of sustainable consumption principles. This study is based on the results of national survey. Recorded results may be useful also when preparing public awareness campaigns concerning sustainable consumption.
Children and teenagers constitute a separate market group, which is heterogeneous in terms of their behaviour, market attitudes and activity. This is the basis for distinguishing four market segments, different in terms of the demographic, economic and psychographic characteristics of young participants in the market.

In the results are presented the facts about innovation at all stages of the Family life cycle.
В статье анализируются особенности потребления, которые имеют место в современной Украине перед лицом новых политических и экономических вызовов. Обращается внимание на такие составляющие потребления, как потребитель, с учетом его потребностей, предпочтений и личностных характеристик, а также на домохозяйство, которое в нынешних условиях находится под сильным воздействием не только макроэкономических, но и социальнодемографических факторов, а также факторов стратификационного порядка. Особое место в статье отведено анализу развития интернет-коммерции в украинском обществе. Сделан вывод, что при своей консервативности украинский потребитель все более склонен к овладению новыми интернет-технологиями для приобретения товаров и услуг on-line. Характерной тенденцией является то, что украинский потребитель все больше в своих потребительских предпочтениях становится похожим на европейцев. При этом, в связи с аннексией Крыма Россией и ее неприкрытой агрессией против Украины, нарастают патриотические тенденции в потребительском поведении и предпочтениях украинцев, направленных на поддержку национального товаропроизводителя и бойкота российских товаров.
In recent years the intensified consumer-consciousness has clearly determined the decisions of the consumers. A primary research was carried out among students in Hungary in the spring of 2010, which focused on a special segment, the attitude of the environment-conscious consumers and the demographic features affecting them. The decisions of the environment-conscious consumers, who keep in mind the interest of others, are clearly determined by the factors such as which lifecycle they are in, social status, marital status, gender and qualifications. According to research result the female members (in relationship, with children and high qualifications) of the elder generation group are significantly more environment-conscious than those with other demographic features. The research also pointed out that from the environment-consciousness point of view not all the demographic features are influencing factors. The role of income and place of residence is not relevant from this point of view. However, the significance of the attitudes from the research point of view are very important as there is a medium, and positive correlation between the actual behaviour and attitudes.
The article presents the consumer evaluation of marketing mix on the organic food market in Poland. The analysis is based on surveys conducted among 248 consumers purchasing organic food in retail shops in the city of Poznań. The survey questionnaire consists of four groups of research questions reflecting the four marketing mix elements: product, price, place and promotion. The conducted research indicates that the place (poor distribution resulting in limited assortment) and promotion (low effectiveness of advertising campaigns generating demand) and actions are taken in order to improve them.
The aim of the research was to identify pro-ecological activities of Slovak hotels in the opinion of their employees and consumers. Two questionnaires were created, one was sent to 400 hotels and the other one to 105 respondents. The most common pro-ecological activities introduced by hotels were: energy saving bulbs, energy efficient appliances, waste separation and recycling, and light motion sensors. In terms of packaging of the hotel cosmetics, half of the hotels used disposable mini-packs, and the other half dispensers for soap and shampoo. Over half of hotels did not offer meals prepared from organic foods in their hotel restaurant. Only two hotels rewarded their clients who care for the environment. One hotel offered discounts on accommodation and the second one offered a higher number of points on the loyalty card. 42.1% hotels had plans related to environmental protection (e.g. expand waste sorting, recycle PET bottles, and increase the share of segregated waste).
