Vibration characteristics in subway operation and environmental responses of ancient buildings

Seismic waves travel faster in rock stratum and have greater environmental responses. This paper analyzed the transmission regulation, vibration frequency, and amplitude attenuation characteristics of waves in layered elastic medium. Also, impacts of the elastic modulus of homogeneous medium, subway tunnel depth, and other factors on the environmental response in the runtime were investigated. Based on typical lots of Qingdao Subway, environmental response of train vibration was analyzed. The horizontal vibration response of Sensitive Point 1 indicates that the horizontal velocity reaches its peak (0.4 mm/s) at 25 m away from the vibration source, and it minimizes with the increase of horizontal distance. Vertical vibration of Sensitive Point 2 shows that the maximum of Z vibration level occurred right above the tunnel, and numerical value of Z vibration level decreased with the increase of horizontal distance. The results provide data for the vibration damping and isolation during subway tunnel construction in rock stratum, and meaningful references to the control of environmental response and vibration problems during the operation of a subway train.

School buildings typically serve a number of functions simultaneously, owing to which they seem to be especially exposed to the expansion of fungi with wide enzymatic capabilities, including fungi of the genus Penicillium. In total, 34 isolates belonging to 20 species were obtained within two schools. The most frequently isolated species included: Penicillium chrysogenum, P. waksmanii, and P. citrinum. Over 65% more fungi were isolated in the heating season than when the heating was off. This period was also characterized by an almost threefold greater taxonomic spectrum. Especially in the heating season, the prevalence and species spectrum of the fungi of the Penicillium genus in school buildings should be constantly monitored due to their environmental plasticity as well as toxigenic, allergenic and antibiotic properties.

The paper presents operation examination results of a heating system equipped with a heat pump, manufactured by the Sekut company, equipped with a scroll type compressor. The performed statistical analysis has shown a significant influence of external temperature and heat transfer coefficient to the COP value. Within the analysed period, the COP maintained a level of 2.6 at an average monthly temperature of -6°C, with a transfer coefficient of 15%.
