Environmental precipitation water management is an important task of infrastructure. Despite its significance there are no relevant comprehensive legal regulations, although the beginnings of the precipitation water drainage systems go back a long way. The development of urbanisation contributed to the construction of drainage systems in many areas. This leads to the considerably faster draining of precipitation water to water reservoirs, disturbs the hydraulics of the watercourses, and thus significantly spoils natural water circulation. The authors present one of the methods of precipitation water management: discharging it into the ground.

The belief that highways are environment-friendly is so strong that there had been no discussion based on scientific arguments before the law on highway construction was enacted. In terms of the experience of the last few years, it is clear that they are not only harm the environment but also are economically inefficient. Had highways not posed threat to the environment, environmental organisations would have supported them. The Warsaw Institute for Sustainable Development in its opinion on Poland’s accession to the EU opts for highway elimination. Many scientific studies identify freon emissions as one of the causes of greenhouse effect. That is why, throughout the world, many attempts are made at limiting and controlling freons emissions. Poland is not yet a significant consumer of freon and they are not produced here on industrial scale either. Nevertheless, there is a necessity to rationalize the use of freons. The authors suggest many ways of achieving this effect, and point out recycling as a cheapest method of limiting freon emissions.

Najlepszym sposobem ochrony środowiska jest tzw. ocena oddziaływania na środowisko. Obowiązek takiej oceny na etapie decydowania o lokalizacji inwestycji przemysłowej wprowadził rząd USA już w 1970 r. W r. 1985 Rada Wspólnot Europejskich ogłosiła dyrektywę o "ocenie skutków dla środowiska niektórych inwestycji publicznych i prywatnych". W Polsce idea ta jest również wprowadzana w życie. 29 grudnia 1989 r. minister OŚZNiL powołał, jako organ opiniodawczy ministerstwa, Komisję do Spraw Ocen Oddziaływania na Środowisko.
