Acclimatization of plantlets is still one of the main current problems in micropropagation. Specific environmental conditions in vitro contribute to the origination of diverse plant phenotypes that cannot survive when transplanted directly in a greenhouse or field. Thus, it is necessary to acclimatize the plantlets gradually to ensure survival until they develop new leaves, more adapted to ambient conditions under which the plants are normally grown. The environmental factors affecting acclimatization and further growth of micropropagated plants, such as air humidity, light conditions, carbon dioxide concentration, temperature, growing medium and fertilization were discussed in the paper.
