In sixteen early medieval settlement layers of the Wolin-Town, which correspond chronologically to the period from 7th to mid 13th century, the occurrence of 16 463 bone remains of fishes was stated, of which 9 799 pieces were identified anatomically and their specific affiliation was determined. These bones as well as scales found in the excavation belonged to 27 fish species. Amongst them were 13 cyprinid and 3 salmonid species. Based on the comparative study of the bones, a total of 4 645 fish were determined and their estimated weight amounted to 9 308 kg. The quantitative dominants were: Stizostedion lucioperca L. (31.6%), Abramis brama L. (26.2%), Perca fluviatilis (15.5%) and Rutilus rutilus L. (11.3%). The total weight dominants were: Stizostedion lucioperca L. (36.4%), Acipenser sturio L. (35.4%), and Abramis brama L. (14.8%).
seventeen early medieval sedimentary layers of the port of the town of Wolin, corresponding chronologically with the time period from the beginning of the 9th till the middle of the 13th century, the occurrence of 3 537 bone remains was stated, of which 2 784 pieces had their anatomy determined. In the identified archaeological material 33 types of bones were found, belonging to 15 species of teleost fishes, as well as 4 kinds of common sturgeon remains (Acipenser sturio). The bones of viscerocranium, mainly of zander (Stizostedion lucioperca), bream (Abramis brama), and perch (Perca fluviatilis), were dominant (57.23%).
The water intake situated at Rybacka Street in Wolin was established in the beginning of the 20th century. It is situated in the close vicinity of the existing apartment and business buildings and the water and sewage systems as well. On the fenced parcel ca 50x80 m besides the objects of: – building of the water-supply station, – warehouse – workshop building with sanitary facilities, – household building, – building of the current generating plant, are situated the deep-water wells No. 6 and No. 9 now in the operational use. The other deep-water wells being now in the operational use are the well No. 10 situated at Rybacka Street in the distance ~ 90 m from the intake parcel border as well as the well No. 5 situated in the distance ~ 220 m from the parcel border.
