The level of investment in Vietnamese agriculture was discussed. Special attention was paid to foreign capital, which participated in about one half of the total investment in the whole country.
A list of 31 species of Pseudomyrmicinae, Dorylinae and Ponerinae from Vietnam, including 8 species new for Vietnam. Two new species (Anochetus mixtus, Brachyponera mesoponeroides) as well as unknown ♀ of Cerapachys sauteri are described.
Vietnam, the agricultural country has very good climate conditions to grow the rice (Oryza sativa). This plant is cultivated almost in all agricultural holdings. The proctuction of rice is significantly influencing the profitability of farms. The economic reform introduced in 1989 resulted in rapid economic grow of the country. Due to this reform Vietnam toured from the net rice importer into the net rice exporter. Today Vietnam is the second largest world rice exporter, after Thailand. The production of rice plays also very important role in the whole national economy of Vietnam. It influences the reduction of unemployment and increase of the incomes of rural dwellers. Such development complies with the policy of the country.
