The following paper presents the results of observations of the size and condition of cheddar pink (Dianthus gratianopolitanus Vill.) population in the “Goździk siny w Grzybnie” reserve (Wielkopolska Province), as well as active cultivation of the species in ex situ controlled conditions and its reestablishment supporting the natural, endangered population in the reserve.
The paper presents results of the first survey of nature monuments conducted after WWII in seven communes of the Szamotuły county: Duszniki, Kaźmierz, Obrzycko, Ostroróg, Pniewy, Szamotuły and Wronki. A total of 114 nature monuments were inventoried – single trees account for 76.3% of all monuments, while clusters of trees – 20.2%, respectively. A locality of Osmunda regalis, a cluster of Pinus mugo as well as two erratics are also monuments. A total of 384 trees of 25 species were inventoried. In case of single trees considered nature monuments the most numerous group is composed of English oaks (44 trees – 50.6%), while among tree clusters Scots pines predominate (201 trees – 67.7 %). The biggest number of monuments is found in state forests (57.9%) and former manor parks (21.9%). Plaques of Nature monument are placed on 54% trees ranked as monuments and 60.9% tree clusters, while only every eighth monument tree cluster bears the appropriate information plaque. Such a plaque was also placed on one erratic. The most impressive tree in the analysed county is a London plane from Pożarów, with a circumference of 7.15 m.
The aim of this study was to determine the factors affecting the development of production of pulses to be used as commodities or feeds on farms in Wielskopolska. The survey was conducted on 184 farms in 2012, where farmers were interviewed with a questionnaire. There was a minimal share of pulses in the crop structure on the farms under study. Low cost-effectiveness of production and yield instability were some of the reasons why the respondents did not start the production of pulses. Another important reason was the absence of the market to sell such products.
The Rubus flora of northern Wielkopolska (Greater Poland) is not yet fully discovered, but the recent studies on the genus Rubus suggest that it is clearly not as rich as in case of southern Wielkopolska. The results of the field observations show that the area of the Durowo Forest District contains 14 representatives of the genus Rubus, out of which the presence of four taxa has already been reported and confirmed. Only Rubus czarnunensis, species endemic to Poland and mentioned in this area in the early 20th century, was not rediscovered. The presence of two species, previously unknown in this area, R. nemoralis and R. seebergensis, have shifted their range limits by 16 km and 30 km to the north, respectively. A statistically significant higher number of bramble species occurred in pine forest growing on fertile deciduous forest habitats.

72%
The authors describe two localities of Entoloma jahnii Wölfel & Winterh., which were found during the mycocoenological research in Pomerania and Wielkopolska Regions in the phytocoenoses of Carici elongatae-Alnetum and Galio sylvatici-Carpinetum associations. The article consists of a description of gathered specimens and some remarks concerning ecology of this rare species.
The paper presents data on 10 terrestrial snail species: Platyla polita (W. Hartmann, 1840), Carychium (Carychium) minimum O. F. Müller, 1774, C. (Saraphia) tridentatum (Risso, 1826), Succinea putris (Linnaeus, 1758), Succinella oblonga (Draparnaud, 1801), Oxyloma (Oxyloma) elegans (Risso, 1826), O. (O.) sarsii (Esmark, 1886), Cochlicopa lubrica (O. F. Müller, 1774), C. lubricella (Rossmässler, 1834), C. nitens (M. von Gallenstein, 1848), recorded over the last fifty years in the Wielkopolska district (W. Poland). They include species location in the UTM grid on the map of Wielkopolska. Among those species Cochlicopa lubrica (663 sites) and Succinea putris (422 sites) are the most frequent in Wielkopolska.
