The paper presents results of a simulation study on the impact of a set of reservoirs on the outflow from a small lowland catchment of an area of 106 km2. The study was carried out in the catchmment of the Dzierzba - left tributary to the Skroda River. Using the software package elaborated in the Institute of Land Reclamation and Grassland Farming we performed simulated calculations of the transformation of water flow through a set of reservoirs in selected hydrological years. Calculated variants differed in the number and location of retention reservoirs and in hydraulic parameters of the outflow devices. It was found that several retention reservoirs of a capacity of several dozen to several hundred thousands cubic meters would reduce culmination of floods and decrease low waters during the periods of water deficits. There is a possibility to reduce Qmax to c. 15 % during the summer floods and to reduce Qmax to 76 % during the snow-melt floods (of greater capacity).
