In last time fall participate in culture by inhabitants in Poland like one of the ways spend leisure time. It was result of many reasons, like commercialization of culture, reduction of access to culture financing by collective consumption fund and process of globalization cultural values, particular influence international commercial mass culture. At the same time fall expenses of households for a culture because make worse a material condition many of them. In the article are present some of results researches inhabitants of Szczecin on the subject of frequency and determinants participation in some kinds of culture (a theatrical spectacle, opera, operetta, concert), preferences related to kind of cultural performances and repertory and sources of information about the cultural program.
