The West Pomeranian Voivodship has almost reached European environmental standards. All major localities have municipal sewage treatment plants, excluding Szczecin, where a sewage treatment plant will have been commissioned by 2007. Large industrial plants have controlled their atmospheric pollutant emissions. Waste management is tidied up. The Fund assists in establishing nature and forest education centres (23 in the voivodship), and finances the subscription of environmental magazines, e.g. AURA, for 1264 schools.
