The importance of the Hyphomycetes Fungi Imperfecti stems from their crucial role in purifying both flowing and standing waters, which can balance the effects of eutrophication. The purpose of the present work was to analyze Hyphomycetes populations in the 11 fish ponds, each with different leaves and dead plant composition. The research was carried out in autumn 2001 and spring 2002. We investigated water samples from fish farms in Northeastern Poland. In breeding the fungi some water plants and bulrushes from the ponds were used. We discovered 79 species of Fungi Imperfecti. Eight of which appeared to be new to Northeastern Poland. In addition, pathogenic species: Alternatria sp. and Fusarium sp. were also found. The most optimum conditions for the Hyphomycetes representatives were found in the ponds overgrown by numerous water plants and bulrushes. It confirms that saprophytic Fungi Imperfecti play an active role in decomposition of dead plants, and purification of each pond’s water. Keywords: Hyphomycetes fungi, plants, ponds.

The paper presents new data on ecological peculiarities of five anamorphic fungi species, Cladorrhinum foecundissimum, Dwayaangam cornuta, Lateriramulosa uni-inflata, Pyramidospora herculiformisandTetraploa setifera, their distribution and substrate preferences are discussed. Short description, illustration and map of localities in Lithuania of recorded species are presented.
Tetraploa aristata Berkeley & Broome represents the anamorphic stage of a pleomorphic fungus with holomorph Tetraplosphaeria tetraploa (Scheuer) Kaz. Tanaka & K. Hiray (Lophiostoma tetraploa (Scheuer) Aptroot & K.D. Hyde). Until now this taxon has not been reported in Poland, where it is probably on the fringe of its distribution. Conidia of Tetraploa aristata were found during palynological analyses of modern surface samples and later on the decaying leaves of Phleum phleoides from xeric grasslands in Kraków and its vicinity. Since Tetraploa aristata was discovered during palynological analysis, this method might be considered to be a useful tool for investigations of contemporary microfungal mycobiota.
Fifty-one species of fungi were found in the oligotrophic Lake Hańcza and some adjacent lakes. The following fungi unknown from Poland were found in these lakes: Micromyces zygogonii, Blastocladia pringsheimii, Lagenidium marchalianum, Calyptralegnia achlyoides, Apodachlya pyrifera, and Tricladium giganteum.
Eyespot belongs to most destructive of foot rot diseases of cereals, because it occurs on the best soils and owing to a great number of host plants. To assure a satisfactory chemical protection of cereals against Pseudocercosporella herpoirichoides (Fron) Delghton the knowledge of the etiology of this disease and the biology of the pathogenic agent is needed. Till now the benzimidazole fungicides are used on a large scale. Since 1982 in West Europe the resistance of the fungus - P.herpotrichoides to benzimidazole fungicides has been observed. Thus the necessity of exact investigation of this problem in agroecological conditions of Poland is important.
