New records of 18 species of the family Hydraenidae from Poland are reported. The occurrence of two species: Hydraena schuleri GANGL. and Ochthebius dilatatus STEPH. is confirmed in Poland. New localities of 11 rare species are presented. H. britteni JOY, H. melas DALLA TORRE, and H. truncata REY are newly reported from the Western Sudety Mts., H. excisa KIESENW. is newly reported from the Wielkopolska-Kujawy Lowland, Limnebius aluta BEDEL is new for the Pomeranian Lakeland, L. truncatellus (THUNBERG) is new for the Tatra Mts., Hydraena schuleri GANGLBAUER is new for the Bieszczady Mts. and O. dilatatus STEPHENS is new for the Baltic Coast region. A critical list of species recorded from Poland is presented and discussed.

The paper presents the results of investigations of the occurrence of water beetles in natural and artificial water bodies in the area of Szczecin. Altogether 6266 individuals of water beetles belonging to 132 species from 6 families were collected. Analyses were made of species structure, changes in the population of the fauna in the annual cycle, and faunal similarities between the water bodies. The main source of the fauna of Coleoptera of the urban waters were the natural water bodies and waters of the Baltic littoral.

During the conducted researches into the influence of water pollutions on water beetles communities settling the oxbow lakes of Klodnica River there were proved that water beetles communities are very sensitive even to sporadic disturbance of their environment. The reaction on such disturbance was impoverishment of species composition (37 species were ascertained in oxbow lakes, and 63 in tested reservoirs), drastic fall of number (440 specimens were caught in oxbow lakes, and 1682 in tested reservoirs) and disturbance of domination structure (in oxbow lakes 12 species in the class of dominants of 37 here recorded and in tested reservoirs 10 species out of 63 recorded). Among 69 species found 6 is recorded for the first time from Upper Silesia: Agabus congener (thunb.), A. subtilis Er., Hydroporus incognitus sharp, H. memnonius NIC., Anacaena lutescens (steph.) and Enochrus coarctatus (Gred).

The article presents a study of water beetles of Rogalin Landscape Park in the western part of Poland. New data about 10 species of rare aquatic beetle and information about the most interesting species in faunistic terms are given. It is the first landscape park in Wielkopolska Lowland whose water beetles have been comprehensively studied. A list of all aquatic beetles known from Rogalin Landscape Park is also presented.
