Eureka European Research Initiative was established in June 1985. Its main task is to increase performance and competitiveness of European industry and economy. It features flexible approach based on vesting decisions on subjects and research projects in their participants. Eureka supplements other EU programs, but contrastingly, it does not set deadlines for submitting project drafts. Above 4000 research institutions and businesses are involved in studies.
